Mini Sword Pendant "Gladius"

Description

This miniature sword is handcrafted in my small workshop in Poland. The blade is made from N690 stainless steel and properly heat-treated, making it durable and extremely sharp. Despite its small size, the sword remains fully functional and versatile.

Creation Process

The process begins with designing the shape of the sword and transferring it onto the steel. The shape is then cut out and carefully refined before the cutting edge is ground. The blade goes through hardening and tempering, followed by sharpening and polishing.

The next stage is making the handle. The wooden and brass components are carefully drilled and fitted to the blade using adhesive. The handle is then ground, hand-shaped, and polished to achieve its final appearance.

The wooden scabbard is made by cutting out its front and back sections and fitting a layer of brass between them. The pieces are then glued together, and the scabbard is carefully ground and shaped to fit the sword.

The scabbard is then engraved with decorative patterns, sanded, and polished. Finally, the scabbard and sword handle are varnished for protection, and the waxed cord is added.
